Labrousse
The Labrousse clan consists of Xavier, Victoria, Nikita, Ulrich and Caleb. None of them are related by blood except for Ulrich and Caleb but they consider themselves family nonetheless. They’ve traveled together for centuries and have been in Hillcrest for years. They were the first vampryes to stop drinking blood and have tried to help other vampryes fight the blood lust.

Xavier Labrousse is the oldest of the clan. He’s quiet and more reserved than any of the others but he also keeps them under control. Xavier was part of the uppercrust of France which is how he met Victoria. They were married for a time but later divorced. Xavier seems the least likely to let the temptation of blood rouse his baser instincts.

Victoria Alistor-Labrousse has always been, and will always be, a spoiled self-centered woman. That doesn’t mean to say that she’s not deadly however. When she was first turned she went on a deadly killing spree to slack her thirst which started one of the worst Vampyre hunts that her town had ever seen. Forced to go into hiding she fled to France where she met Xavier. Finding a companion calmed her down for a time and Xavier was able to show her how much easier life would be without the blood lust. Victoria is the most likely to go rogue and resume drinking blood. She has a very low opinion of anyone not a Vampyre. She especially detests Lycans.

Nikita Pépin is the bastard child of a whore and a gentleman. She became a skilled courtesan by the age of sixteen thanks to the tutelage of a woman Nikita had been stealing from. She was turned by one of her clients in hopes that she would stay with him forever. In turn, she fled and hid herself way from everyone and everything. She doesn’t talk about that time of her life and to this date dislikes being touched…except by one man but she tries to fight it. It was easy for Nikita to give up blood since she went long periods between feeding. Xavier found her on the brink of death and took her under his wing.

Ulrich d’Allemagne is always quick with a smile and has a great sense of humor. He says whatever he wants, does whatever he wants and drinks to excess whenever possible. He’s also friends with several Lycans which, well not exactly taboo, isn’t the norm either. He and his half-brother Caleb traveled all over Europe, playing cards, plying the ladies(him more than his brother) and living the life of wastrels. It wasn’t until Caleb was turned by an angry Vampyre(who had just happened to have lost his estate to Ulrich) that Ulrich became more tempered. Insisting that his brother turn him as well Ulrich soon came to realize that the father that he had never known was something more than he had even expected. Ulrich and Caleb stumbled upon Xavier at the market and sensing what he was followed him back to his residence where he welcomed them with open arms.
Ulrich holds an affection for Nikita. Whether it’s because she’s refused him or something deeper remains to be seen.

Caleb d’Allemagne is a watcher. He’d rather sit and watch people then to actually join in the conversation. At one point he used to be completely different but one night changed his, and his brother’s, life forever. Bitten by a Vampyre that he had not only fleeced out of his estates but also having slept with his wife, Caleb vowed to never allow excess to rule his life again. He and Ulrich have embraced their new life in America as well as the fashion. Caleb blames himself for not having the willpower to ignore his brother’s pleas to change him. He rarely speaks to anyone outside of the Labrousse clan.
