May 3, 2009 Vanderall residence. 2118 hrs
Dom stared at herself in the mirror then slowly reached up and grabbed a clump of hair. Bringing the scissors up she inhaled deeply before the sound of scissor blades cutting hair filled the small bathroom. It had been nearly two weeks since her baby had ran off and she was sick and tired of her heart stopping every time the phone rang. Hoping and praying it was Gregory with news of her son and yet fearing the worst. She had never been one to stand by and she wasn’t going to start now. Especially not now.
Wiping the hair from her blouse she studied herself in the mirror with a pleased expression before walking out of the bathroom and picking up the suitcase that had been waiting for her. A suitcase that should have been packed months ago.
She didn’t even bother to look around as she headed toward the stairs. There was nothing for her here. She wouldn’t miss the big, empty apartment filled with expensive things or the man who was currently past out in his room. A room that they used to share but now she couldn’t even stomach the idea of him touching her. So much had changed in the last few weeks. And, if she were honest with herself, it was a change that was long overdue.
She had just reached the landing when she heard the creak of the bedroom door.
“Dom, what the fuck is going on? What the hell did you do to your hair?” There was a pause then: “And where the hell do you think you’re going?” he snarled.
Dom’s hands tightened but she refused to turn around. “I’m leaving Ethan. I’m going to look for my son-”
“Our son,” he snapped.
“And I’m taking him far away from you. This…thing we had is done. It’s been over for years.”
“Do you really think that I’m just going to let you walk out on me? On me?”
“You really don’t have a choice Ethan. I’m leaving and there isn’t anything you can do about it.”
There was a beat of silence behind her and then a snort. “You think so? What if I find your precious little boy first huh? Then you’ll come crawling back to me on your hands and knees…just how I like you.”
She didn’t think. Just reacted. Her bags fell from her hands and she whirled around to see him grinning at her as if this was a joke. As if using her son as a pawn would make her stay. She was done being his bitch. Done doing his dirty work. She was just fucking done. A red haze clouded her vision and Dom didn’t even realize she had attacked him until they were rolling around on the floor, snapping and snaring at each other. She could feel his erection as it dug into her hip. Disgusted she wiggled around until she gained enough freedom to knee him in the balls. He let out a windy curse before backhanding her.
Dom edged away as she patted around on the floor for anything that could be used as a weapon. Ethan snarled as he landed heavily on top of her. His big hand grabbed the back of her neck and squeezed as he raised his other hand. This was the point where she always backed down. Where she always turned her head and averted her gaze to show him that he was the alpha.
But not this time.
“Go ahead and do it you fucking coward. Hit me. I know you want to. You know you want to. But heaven help you when I heal. I will kill you. Maybe it’ll be in the food you eat, or maybe I’ll kill you while you sleep but if you lay a fucking hand on me I won’t rest until you’re six feet under and I’ve spit on the top of your grave.”
She felt his hand tighten on her neck and saw his jaw tighten. But she also took notice of the confusion that flashed across his face. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“I want my son and I want him now. I’m tired of you doing nothing. Letting everyone else do all your dirty work. I’m tired of you. I’m just tired.” Reaching up she shoved hard against his shoulders. He rocked backwards before straightening.
“Dom-”
“No Ethan. Just…no. Good-bye.”
She didn’t look back as she grabbed her suitcase and purse and headed down the stairs.
Ethan stood over the railing and watched as Dom headed outside. She’d be back. She had to come back. She wasn’t used to being out on the streets. Who was going to take care of her like he did? No one that’s who. His hand fisted on the railing.
She had to come back.
“Well, well, well. Looks as if I came just in time. It looks as if I have something you want and you have something I need. I’m Victoria. Now…let’s make a deal.”
Stretching the prompt again. Spring = change to me. I always feel refreshed and like dropping old baggage. Go with me here. Poor Nolan. I like him better as Stoney McStoner. I still want to hug him though. Thanks Dolly_riot for the use of Victoria! And man it’s been awhile since we’ve seen Ethan and Dom huh? And that hair cut fits her I think. Yeah? And Julius! YAY! I’m just saying! Good to have him out of pup form for a change!:) Added some pics to unscripted and that’s about it. New layout. Not sure if I like it enough to keep it. between Nolan ignoring the puppy and Dom finally FINALLY taking Ethan apart, and I think he paid attention this time, I adore this!!!
Ethan…damn what a total loss. He can’t even focus on the loss of his son except for some missing tool. I hope Dom does take him apart, and I think she can. If anyone can, she can.
WTF is Victoria doing there?
The way you switch between cookies and ice cream to the monstrous tension between Ethan and Dom is just incredible! Really fantastic use of emotion to whip between one, and the other. And I love the way you focus on their feet, as if it was from the puppy’s point of view.

I totally get the “Spring” theme here.
Ethan is clearly not the alpha in that relationship. Dom could definitely tear him a new one…you never NEVER question a mother’s attachment to her child. You just do not discount that. Ever.
I just adore Julius so much. He is so busted! And Nolan is such a kick whether stoned or not!
I wonder if Victoria is there as a setup against Ethan or if she is really going to turn on Caine…hmm…

Oh no! No, I don’t believe he EVER was. He just had that illusion and she gave it to him. I wonder what story he’s going to come up with as to why she’s gone? And no…no you don’t. Ethan was a little too slow to realize that.
Julius always makes me smile. He’s so clueless sometimes and other times way to grown. Nolan is! He’s pouty face was killing me! Haha!

Whoa, man! It’s been A WHILE since I commented. I’ve been reading, but by the time I sit down to read I’m to tired to type a coherent sentence. (5:56am here now)
That made me silly happy. Nice detail her cutting her hair off: if you want change start with the hair. Julius and Nolan are still too cute. I feel kind of bad for Nolan now, he feels so useless and not the man he think he’s supposed to be. I want to see you get him a love interest. Maybe one of the vampyres? Or that undercover lycan girl? hehe, that’d be fun times considering the pack she’s in. Man, I feel like one of those old aunts who are always seeking potential wifes/husbands for the young. 
Oh, and I like the “on the couch” thing. Major kudos for the idea. 
I LOVED Alana turning in one of the last chapters! I can’t wait to see Caine try to lecture her (or whatever it is that’s going to happen next with those two). And her freaking out once she fully realizes what she’s done. Ugh, that’ll be bad! And Dom left Ethan. You go girl!
